This is a position where you will teach students of all ages to become safe and happy swimmers. Your days will be filled with kids splashing, learning, having fun, and plenty of smiles and laughter. Our mission is to prevent accidental drownings by teaching children and adults, in a fun way, how to swim and enjoy the water safely.
We are a team of people serious about saving lives and having fun. Since 1981, British Swim School has been a pioneer of teaching water survival skills to children as young as three months and working with swimmers on stroke development after falling in love with the sport of swimming.
Don’t worry–we’ll train you! You do not need a competitive swimming background or prior experience teaching swim lessons.

What you will do:
- Teach water-survival and learn-to-swim classes to students of all ages. We start as young as 3 months!
- Work with some amazing kids and their families.
- Communicate with families as students progress through our program.
- Have fun working with us!
What you should know about this position:
- A love of working with kids is a must! Prior experience with children is preferred.
- An upbeat attitude and lots of energy are necessary too!
- This is a year-round position and we are looking for longer-term employees.
- You need to be a “swimmer.” Ideally, instructors should have an understanding of all 4 strokes and overall appreciation of the water.
- We will provide you with the in-depth training needed to help you to become an expert instructor.

Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
